Getting up to Speed with a phenomenal 2019
After a phenomenal 2018 celebrating 20 fantastic years in the industry, we entered 2019 as reigning ‘Medicolegal Provider of the Year’ champions. It was an honour to be recognised for our work in the medicolegal field, and our hard work hasn’t stopped since - 2019 has also been a turnaround year for a number of key reasons.
Let us entertain you!
In January, we kicked off the year as sponsors at the Modern Law Awards - a pinnacle event in the law sector. It was an evening of flowing champagne, living statues and the unveiling of a magnificent fairground adventure including candy floss carts, Dodgems and Hook-a-Duck games – all proudly sponsored by Speed Medical.
Keeping connected with mymedical
After taking the time to review our services, our supporting structures, our skills, our culture and our brand, January also saw the development of a new initiative for client engagement - introducing mymedical! The mymedical online portal provides optimal convenience, and allows for patients to amend, book and confirm their appointments, anytime, anywhere.
As a leading medicolegal agency - and in celebration of our numerous achievements, 20th birthday and expansion, we decided it was time to rebrand our existing website, which we relaunched in June. Our inspiration was drawn from speaking to our experts, our staff and our leaders to uncover the magic of Speed Medical so we could design and deliver the brand aesthetic and new website that it deserved, updating our values to reflect what we truly care about.
Introducing new client services
We developed the new Consultant Screening Report service alongside our already established GP Screening Report offering, in August. It enables us to match the challenged medical professional from each case with one of our suitably qualified medical experts of the same discipline, who will then screen the report and provide an informed, justified opinion on whether or not clinical negligence has taken place.
FOHN Inaugural Annual Conference and Occupational Health 2019
We also expanded our knowledge and delved deeper into the occupational health arena by attending the FOHN Inaugural Annual Conference and Occupational Health 2019, hosted in Bristol.
The two events in August provided the perfect platform for meeting with organisations and individuals alike. Through the solidifying of these relationships we’ve not only grown our panel with many choosing to join us, but we’re now putting processes in place to work more closely with the faculty of OH, supporting them with future events.
Reaching out to Nurses
In line with our ongoing commitment to grow our Expert Panel, we are active at several key events in the industry. In particular, October saw us exhibiting at the RCNi Nursing and Careers Jobs Fair in London. Following their networking efforts, our team received insightful feedback and an influx of interest, leading us to recruit a number of talented Nurses to our panel of eminent experts.
We then held our own vocational assessment training for Nurses who had registered their interest, helping them to continue to grow and develop within their role with further CPD training. In many cases, we provided additional training to Nurses in a matter of weeks, from which we received highly positive feedback, with our training described by one as both ‘enjoyable and inspiring’.
Finalists, once again!
In November, we were once again in the running for the prestigious accolade of ‘Medicolegal Provider of the Year’ at the Personal Injury Awards. The evening was a great success, celebrating the excellence of individuals and organisations across the personal injury sector - encompassing all professionals and key service providers working in the field.
It’s why we’re delighted to have been shortlisted again for this prestigious award - a great testament to the service that we continue to deliver.
Charity is our mission this festive season
This festive season, we were incredibly excited to get involved in fundraising on behalf of Cash for Kids’ campaign, Mission Christmas! The fundraiser has taken place across the country and we acted as a drop-off point for the North West. We’ve created festive videos featuring some of our valued customers ‘rocking around the Christmas tree’ to help raise further awareness of Mission Christmas.
The campaign has now drawn to a close, and we’re proud to reveal we raised over £2000 in both money and presents, far exceeding our initial target of £1000! Cash for Kids has revealed that a phenomenal 18,000 children received a gift this year as a result of the fundraising initiative, who otherwise would have gone without. Well done and thank you to everybody who showed their support for such a fantastic cause!
Our Year in Numbers
As a result of the ongoing commitment from our staff, Speed Medical has brought on almost 200 new clients this year. We replied to a staggering 1.5 million emails in 2019, and after establishing a new telephony system, we have already taken nearly 500,000 calls since its inception in March. Not only that, but with customer service remaining at our core, we made half a million outgoing calls of our own in this period.
Many of these were dialled out by our Out of Hours team, working beyond 9-5 in order to contact your clients at a time that best suits them. You can read all about our ‘Team of the Year’ and their commitment to working around the clock here.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our team for their consistent hard work throughout the year, and our customers for their continued support - we look forward to another successful year in 2020.
