From Administrator to Senior Leader: Georgia Mather’s 10-Year Milestone at Speed Medical

Today, we’re delighted to be celebrating a very special milestone at Speed Medical. We’re pleased to welcome Georgia Mather as we recognise and congratulate them on reaching 10 years of service with the business.

This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of their dedication, commitment, and the positive impact they’ve made over the years. We’re going to ask a few questions to look back on their journey with Speed Medical, hear about their experiences, and reflect on what this milestone means to them.

  1. How long have you been with Speed Medical, and what was your role when you first joined?

When I first joined Speed Medical 10 years ago, I started as an administrator in the out of hours department. From there I have worked in many different departments for varying job roles, from Executive Assistant to Project Support Analyst. To where I am now as the Senior Administrator for medical records and radiology within the Operations department.

  1. Looking back at your time with Speed Medical, what changes or improvements are you most proud to have been a part of?

Looking back, I’m proud to have been part of the creation and growth of the CD Team and Medical Records Team. Being involved from early on and progressing to a senior role within the teams has been a big highlight for me, especially as it’s allowed me to build extensive knowledge and really understand the processes inside out. Seeing the team develop, become more structured, and play an important role in the wider business has been really rewarding. It’s one of those things where you can genuinely look back and think, “I helped shape that,” which is a great feeling (and proof that I’ve picked up a thing or two over the years!).

  1. How have you seen the business evolve over the years, and what do you think makes Speed Medical unique today?

Today, Speed Medical stands out as a leading medical legal agency, firmly recognized as tier one, which really reflects the quality of service and expertise across the business. What makes it unique, though, is that despite that growth, it’s still very people focused. There’s a strong sense of teamwork and support, along with the ability to adapt quickly.

  1. What does working at Speed Medical mean to you personally?

Working at Speed means a lot to me personally. It’s more than just a job, it’s been a place where I’ve grown, built lasting relationships, and developed both professionally and personally over the years. It’s given me a real sense of stability, but also the opportunity to challenge myself and adapt as the business has evolved. No two days are ever quite the same, which keeps things interesting!

  1. Is there a team, colleague, or leader who has had a particularly positive impact on your journey here?

I’ve been really fortunate to work with several great people over the years, so it’s hard to single out just one. That said, Danielle Henry has had a particularly positive impact on my journey. She’s been my manager for the longest time and has been a constant source of support, guidance, and encouragement…not to mention a great friend along the way.

I also have to mention my cousin and best friend Harleigh King, who introduced me to Speed Medical 10 years ago. Without that, I might not even be here, so I definitely owe them one!

Across the wider team, there have been so many people who’ve shared their knowledge, offered support, and made the day to day enjoyable (and kept me sane on the busier days). It’s those relationships that have made a real difference and are a big part of why I’ve stayed so long.

  1. What’s one moment or achievement during your time at Speed Medical that you’ll always remember?

Winning Employee of the Year 2022 was a great achievement for me at Speed!

  1. What advice would you give to someone just starting their career at Speed Medical today?

Be curious, ask questions and don’t be afraid to get involved. Build strong relationships with your colleagues, they are a great source of knowledge and support. Don’t worry if it feels overwhelming at first, we’ve all been there, and somehow, we’re still here 10 years later!
