Commercial & Business Support

Location: Chorley Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: £17,500 Hours: 37.5

The Role:

The Commercial Support and Sales teams are responsible for bringing in new business and nurturing the relationships with our new and existing customers. The role is to support the commercial side of the business alongside the Business Development Managers, Operations team and Finance team. This is a key role within the business, with the team driving efficiency, consistency and simplicity into our customer relationships. This role requires a person who can uphold our commitment to providing excellent customer service both within the business and to our customers. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bespoke reporting for both the business and external customers on a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Acting as a point of escalation for wider business queries
  • Production of management information for each Business Development Manager and the Head of Sales
  • Maintaining and managing our Customer Database to ensure our records are kept accurate for reporting purposes
  • Managing the transition of new customers into the business
  • Managing inactivate Customer Accounts and placing individual cases on hold
  • Running external campaigns to bring in new business
  • Researching customers and completing due diligence 
  • Updating all departments on contractual changes with customers
  • Improving the overall customer relationship
  • Other ad-hoc work

  • Computer literate, including good knowledge of Excel

  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative, as well as being an enthusiastic team player
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • First class interpersonal skills, able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders verbally and in writing
  • Ethical, focused on treating customers fairly

  • Respect for customer and business confidentiality
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good problem-solving skills

Desirable Qualities:

  • Operational knowledge desirable 
  • Any related experience in the areas of the job or the industry would be advantageous
  • Any experience in customer-facing service or sales roles
  • Any qualifications with a communication element are useful
